Full name

Eleonor Piteira

Title

Illustrator, Character Concept Artist

Location

Seixal, Portugal

Biography

Portuguese. Grew up across the river from Lisbon.

Eleonor wanted to be an astronaut once upon a time, but between living in a country where that was impossible, and being too short for it anyway, she instead let her imagination take her to the stars in different ways. In the process, she stumbled upon puzzles, Ancient Egypt, writing, fashion design, and finally concept art and illustration. She then realised that there was a way that she could mix everything to her heart's content, so she set up to do it.

She is interested in characters most of all, and good stories within rich worlds with extensive lore filled with mystery. In her work, she loves to play with iconography, textures and composition, to create poignant and visually appealing images.
Her playgrounds of choice are Sci-fi and Fantasy, and the places where both meet.

Guillermo del Toro shared her fanart of The Shape of Water on Twitter, and might have changed the canon of the movie to accommodate it. Possibly. Maybe. Or at least he thought about it.
